RESCHEDULED PERFORMANCE

Vocal Alchemy presents Journey on Saturday May 2, 7:30pm, at West End Christian Reformed Church.
This event was originally scheduled for Saturday May 16 at McDougall United Church.

Vocal Alchemy’s final concert of the 2019-20 season, Journey, will feature music on the joys and challenges of life, including a complete performance of Randall Thompson’s Frostiana. Setting to music some of Robert Frost’s most famous poetry, including “The Road Less Travelled” and “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening”, Frostiana rings this historic piece of American literature to life across 30 minutes of beautiful choral music. The program pairs Frostiana with a variety of contemporary works, including Samuel Barber’s lyrical Sure on this Shining Night, and the Alberta premiere of Edmonton composer Stuart Beatch’s Joy will lead you.

Featured in this concert is choir Ante Meridiem, as well as Vocal Alchemy's 2019-20 Choral Assistant, Alison Grant-Préville, and the choir’s regular collaborator, pianist Kim Cousineau. This evening with Vocal Alchemy and guests promises a musical experience that will excite and inspire the heart and soul.
